29. Steveston at Night

When I was young my father and I would sail from Ladner to Steveston to refuel before continuing across the Georgia Straight. Today, walking around the busy docks reminds me of the wonderful weekends spent with him. I chose to use the beautiful works of Mike Svon as my inspiration for this painting. He uses bright, dramatic colours that bring his works to life. I wanted to evoke the same vitality in my painting.
