8. Burnaby Heritage Museum Carousel

One crisp spring evening, the Burnaby Girl Guides took a trip to the Burnaby Heritage Museum, where one little redheaded girl fell in love with the carousel. Twelve years later, when thinking about a subject for her painting, Amanda’s memory took her back to when she first rode a sparkling horse. The smooth bright watercolours of Alphonse Mucha’s style were a natural fit for the subject. The mane's flowing organic lines reflect the movement that has brought joy to children for generations.
