Wassily Kandinsky was one of the most famous abstract artists of the 20th century. His dynamic compositions and expressive use of colour have always been an influence on my art. I have chosen an early style of Kandinsky's to illustrate the dynamic atmosphere of Playland on a summer night. I wanted to make Playland come alive, as it has always been an exciting place for the people of Vancouver.
