(Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh)
In Richmond, not far from the hustle and bustle of downtown Vancouver, there are still some undisturbed pieces of farmland. I chose Van Gogh as my inspiration because he was so adept at making these quiet landscapes come alive with colour and swirling energy. One of Van Gogh’s main inspirations was Japanese woodblock prints. Many of these prints feature Mt. Fuji; in my painting it is Mt. Baker that stands majestically in the background of a pastoral valley scene.
