In 1990 the city of Vancouver held a competition for the design of the new library building. I remember gazing at the model and loving Moshe Safdie's radical design, which was so unlike anything built in the city at that time. With Wood's use of shadow, highlights and perspective, I wanted to create another model-like image of one of my favourite buildings.
